This is a great article that showcases the different systems across generations (starting with the 2nd gen) and how their parent companies redesigned them over the years. Sometimes it made sense, other times, it made you wonder why the company put the effort in. Other times, you said to yourself, why wasn't this done earlier (i.e. the Wii). Some consoles should have had their life ended sooner than later (i.e. PSP).
