Maybe this is a bit of fortune telling, but it could be a reality. Just with PC games, users are struggling to understand the validity of paying for expensive consoles and games. Studios are struggling to justify the upfront development costs for these games as well. Some can cost upwards of $100M + to develop at the larger studios and the games do not always sell well. The next 5-10 years will be interesting for the entire console and handheld industry as tablet and smartphone slowly start to take away their gaming market share. I still plan to be a console gamer in the next generation.
