There is so much speculation with the new systems now that its really hard to determine how much of it is really true. We do know that something is in the works and that within the next one to two years, we will get a new console from both companies. I think that the systems will be much similar spec wise than they were in this generation. The biggest difference will be first party games, and Sony has that in the bag. Now lets bring out a new Twisted Metal, Syphon Filter and Crash Bandicoot for the next generation Sony. Microsoft, give us some awesome Rare games. I couldn't think of any other first party games from them, oh yeah that's right, they spun all of those companies off (ahem Bungie)!!!
