The Vita can't catch a break in the industry

Great hardware: Check
Great brand: Check
Mobility: Check
Quality Games: Meh

I really don't know is responsible for the poor success of the Vita. Certainly, there are gamers who love and hate it. The games have been so subpar that many have just written it off as another waste of metal and plastic. I hope that there can be better game development and marketing for this system. I barely see ads in magazines, online and on tv for this product, so its no wonder that it is not selling well. Perhaps the key is to get better quality games for it, but then that takes money and development efforts. And I'm sure that Sony's game development studios are not primarily focused on Vita game demands.

Costs for accessories is pretty high too, which is also a reason as to why people are just not willing to shell out money for it. If the prices for memory cards and the unit itself dropped to DS levels, then I can imagine many more people shelling out money for it, even with not so great games.
