Hmm...could it be because gamers are bored with the current generation? This current cycle has gone on far longer than it should have. I hope that by next year, we start seeing announcements for the new PS and Xbox systems. Its about time. Apart from Bioshock Infinite, I don't plan on buying anything new anytime soon.
