With the main consoles at the end of their life cycle, this shouldn't be a shock to anyone. The Wii U is making its debut in the fall with the 360 and PS3 successors coming in the next 12-18 months. Most of the titles are launched in the late summer or fall, which means that the industry will just limp along until then. Not o mention mobile and digital downloads increasing in popularity.
