I totally agree with this article. Single player games just need to be simple. No mulitplayer crammed in just to do it (i'm talking about you Bioshock 2). Keep the single game experience as it is, a single player game. If people want a multiplayer game, they will by and MMO, FPS or a casual game on kinect/wii/move.
I think that some changes need to be done with voice overs, liscensing, music and video. There is no need to put all of that in. Its nice, but is is really necessary. I actually like narrative cutscenes. It gives more of a storybook feel to the game. Video cut scenes are nice, but perhaps they can be reserved for the beginning and end of the game.
